Crypto Quantique is a young company operating in the developing space of IoT security. Founded on ground-breaking research, the company is building secure integrated circuits that harness quantum effects at the microscopic level, for use in IoT devices. We’re operating at the intersection of two trending technology fields – quantum computing and cybersecurity – which you’ll be learning about and developing your domain in this bleeding edge technology. 

About the role 

The successful candidate will be involved in a dynamic role, functioning as the link between engineering teams, commercial teams, and Crypto Quantique’s customers. You will work closely with the commercial team by providing technical pre-sales support to develop and win new business and manage post-sales support. Clear and concise communication skills are vital to this role, managing many stakeholders. You will get opportunities to develop industry-leading expertise in IoT security, develop long-term relationships with key accounts, along with the opportunity to travel to meet customers face to face. 


Customer technical sales support 

  • Support of the sales team in presenting CQ technology to customers. This will entail the creation of customer/application specific slides to show the value of CQ technology in the customer application. 
  • Support/advise customers in the integration of CQ technology into their system architecture and products 
  • Support the sales team in the development of quotations and proposals. 

Customer updates and status 

  • Provide management with a clear description of the status of key opportunities and customers during reviews. 
  • Participate and present marketing material at trade shows, webinars and during customer visits. 

Internal product testing, documentation and feedback

  • Provide the engineering team on product performance, quality and features that meet customer requirements.
  • Document customer requirements for input to engineering. 
  • Regularly monitor competitors and report on news features 
  • Keep abreast of market trends in the security sector 
  • Assist in the creation of installation procedure, user manuals/guides and application notes for CQ products and services.
  • Generate training material for CQ partners and customers.


Mandatory: A university Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in either Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics. 

Skill Requirements 

Apart from the educational qualifications, certain skills are also needed for accomplishing the roles and responsibilities of field application engineer effectively. 

  • Good interpersonal skills 
  • An excellent command of written and spoken English 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills for effective communication of technical specifications to customers. 
  • Ability to create and develop relationships with key customers and decision makers. 
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple complex projects during implementation of new technology and products. 
  • Autonomous and self-motivated 
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools 
  • Ability to travel (Europe/US/Far East) 


  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience 
  • Comfortable with at least one scripting language 
  • A good knowledge of microcontrollers and microprocessors when used in embedded systems. 
  • A working knowledge of Visual C/C, JSON and Python when used in embedded systems. 
  • A working knowledge of ARM microcontrollers (TrustZone, TF-M etc) 
  • Familiar with cryptographic and security functions used in microcontrollers (AES accelerators, secure boot etc) (not mandatory) 
  • Understanding of communication protocols such at ethernet, Bluetooth, TCP/IP, TLS and MQTT. 
  • Familiar with the concept of cloud computing.
